Asus Confirms Zenfone 8 Series Launch on May 12th

Asus has confirmed the launch of the Zenfone 8 Series on May 12, 2021. An occurrence page with the countdown to the launch date is already live on the official website to tell the tale. “Big on performance. Compact in size” is the tagline used by the company.

The ASUS Zenfone 8 has been shown up on Geekbench Benchmark which confirms that the device will be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. There is no more information about the device except the fact that the smartphone may come up with 8GB and 16GB of RAM Variant and runs on the Android 11 Operating System.

The specifications of the ASUS Zenfone 8/8 Pro are not much revealed but as per the resources, it may come with a large 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. There are rumors that Zenfone 8 may also feature a MEMC chip similar to the one which was found on the ASUS ROG Phone 5. As the flip camera design of ASUS Zenfone’s predecessor was successful, the company may continue with the same design for Zenfone 8 series also. It may feature a 64MP primary sensor.

Along with the premium variants, the ASUS Zenfone 8 Mini is also expected to launch which will be more compact and an affordable variant of the Zenfone 8 Series. As per the leaks, the Zenfone 8 Mini may feature Snapdragon 870 instead of Snapdragon 888 to reduce the cost of the phone and make it even more affordable. The compact design of the Zenfone 8 Mini may feature 5.9 inches which is comparatively smaller than the competitive smartphones. It also features an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz with Full HD+ resolution.  The mini version also may feature a 64MP primary camera. It is unspecified that the mini version may go for a punch-hole version or may stick on to Zenfone’s traditional flip camera setup.

The connectivity options on the Asus Zenfone 8 might include Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v5, and 5G bandwidths, 4G, 3G, and 2G. Sensors on this smartphone might be Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, Compass. The dimensions of the Asus Zenfone 8 are said to be 165.1 mm x 77.3 mm x 9.6 mm and it may weigh approximately 230 grams.

ASUS Zenfone 8 may be priced around Rs 48000 in India and It is expected to give tough competition to the OnePlus 9 series.
