On Thursday, Samsung launched its new flagship smartphone, ‘Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G’ in Galaxy Unpacked 2021 Online Event. The smartphone is part of the ‘Galaxy S-series’. Along with the smartphone, the company also launched the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ model.
The key specifications of the smartphone include a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Quad Rear Cameras, up to 16GB RAM, Snapdragon 888 SoC/Exynos 2100 SoC and 5000mAh Battery.
The main highlights of the smartphones are 5G support, 5nm SoC and S Pen support. It features iconic Contour Cut Camera design which seamlessly blends into the smartphone’s metal frame.
Galaxy S21 Ultra features UWB (Ultra-wideband capabilities) which is embedded to automatically unlock compatible car doors without taking out your car keys. This year, S21 Ultra has a sleeker box which does not include charger and wired earbuds.
It is also the first smartphone in S-series which supports S Pen with Wacom technology. The S Pen will be sold separately as an accessory. It will come in two models, S Pen and S Pen Pro. The S Pen Pro is larger in size, supports Air gestures and will be available later this year. S21 Ultra doesn’t have a slot to carry S Pen as the Note-series had so the company will sell cases for the smartphone to hold the S Pen.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G: Price, Sale Date
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G price is $1,199.99 (approx. Rs. 87,700) for the 12GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant, $1,249.99 (approx. Rs. 91,400) for the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant and $1,379.99 (approx. Rs. 1,00,900) for the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant.
- It will come in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy and Phantom Brown colour options.
- The smartphone will be available for purchase starting January 29 in select markets. Pre-orders starts today i.e. January 14.
- S Pen price is $39.99 (approx. Rs. 2,900).
- Silicon Case with S Pen price is $69.99 (approx. Rs. 5,100).
- Smart Clear View Case with S Pen price is $89.99 (approx. Rs. 6,600).

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G: Specifications and Features
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G sports a 6.8-inch Infinity-O Edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate and WQHD+ (3200×1400 pixels) resolution. Based on Android 11 on the top of OneUI 3.1, the phone runs on octa-core 5nm Snapdragon 888 processor with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM options. The smartphone has the support of Dual-SIM (nano+nano).
Note: India and Europe will get the 5nm Exynos 2100 SoC with Mali-G78 GPU.
In optics, there is a quad rear camera setup, the first camera includes a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the second camera includes a 12MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, the third camera includes a 10MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture, the fourth camera includes a 10MP periscope sensor with f/4.9 aperture.
On the front, there is a 40MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The phone has LED flash and laser autofocus sensor at the back.
When it comes to storage, the smartphone comes with 128GB/256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Connectivity suite of the smartphone includes 5G NA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, UWB Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, MST, GPS+GLONASS and USB Type-C 3.1 port. The sensors onboard the handset are an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G battery capacity is 5000mAh with support of 25W fast charging and 15W Qi Wireless charging. The handset measures 165.1×75.6×8.9mm and weighs 228 grams.
