After countless leaks and rumors, the official Twitter account of Xbox has finally made every bit of information about the next generation consoles official. The smaller and somewhat less powerful Xbox Series S console was announced yesterday. While the Xbox Series X was continuously being teased since Q4 of 2019. Pricing And Availability
The aforementioned gaming consoles will be launched on 10th November and pre-bookings will start on 22nd September. You can prebook the SE consoles even in India. The Xbox Series X is priced at Rs 49,990 while the Xbox Series S will retail for a price of Rs 34,990.
Xbox Series X And Xbox Series S: Specifications And Features
The lower end Xbox Series S next-gen console will be powered by the 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU @ 3.6GHz (3.4GHz with SMT) CPU. Well, even the Series X console will feature the same CPU with a slight increment in processing speed i.e. 3.8GHz. What sets these consoles apart is the GPU.
The Series S sports an AMD RDNA 2 GPU 20 CUs @ 1.565GHz that offers 4 teraflops GPU power. While the higher-end console has an AMD RDNA 2 GPU 52 CUs @ 1.825GHz which offers 12.15 teraflops GPU power. Furthermore, RAM and storage on these two consoles are also slightly different. You get 16GB GDDR6 RAM on the Series X and there’s 10GB GDDR6 RAM on the Series S.
As for storage, the higher end console offers 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVME SSD and the lower end console comes with 512TB PCIe Gen 4 NVME SSD. It is worth noting that, storage on these consoles can be expanded using a 1TB expansion card. Lastly, there’s 4K UHD Blu-ray support on Series X which you can’t find on Series S as its digital-only.
According to Microsoft, Series X will offer 4K UHD gaming at up to 120FPS. While Series S offers a QHD gaming experience.
