Skype launched a new form of video call meetings service whereby no one has to sign up for an account to access the chat except for Skype and even the host doesn’t even have to sign up for the service, or install something.
Skype describes the new Meet Now feature as a “hassle-free way of communicating” with other people who don’t need to sign up for any account or download any apps. You can just head over to a web page and start a meeting directly from there in just a few clicks, inviting anyone you wish to participate as easily afterwards.
For those who already have the Skype application installed, if you want, you can launch the meeting from inside the application and invite your current Skype contacts easily.
The meeting link doesn’t expire, and the functionality of the video call isn’t restricted. You get in-line chat option and reactions, and the opportunity to blur the background. For work or educational purposes, you can also share your screen and even record the call if you wish (recordings are kept for 30 days)
