According to PUBG Mobile’s social media update, ‘Cold Front Survival’ is coming to feature on April 16, just a few days away.
Some further information has now been shared by the company, but the teasers explicitly point to the previously leaked Extreme Cold mode that was shown in the beta version of Game For Peace (PUBG Mobile in China).
It’s going to be more of a survival mode than what we’ve seen before. The game will be set in Vikendi, and players will have to survive in extremely cold weather by searching for wood to start a fire, as well as hunting for animals to catch a cold wave. In this mode, a timer will be added to warn players of the upcoming extreme cold wave, so that they can find shelter and plan for survival. Players would have to deal with destruction if they weren’t near a fire when the cold wave hits.
Things are getting a bit…chilly here ❄️

In addition, one of the teasers also contains a drone that is supposed to be added to the game. If you’ve been following our PUBG Mobile coverage, you’d know that adding drones to the game has also been leaked before. According to some leaked gameplay video, drones will only be used as surveillance devices. They could be used to check for enemies or even guns and equipment across the world.
What seems odd is PUBG Mobile’s decision to introduce the Cold Front Survival mode in April. This would have made a lot of sense if the mode had been introduced during the winter season. Additionally, instead of introducing new modes, it would be perfect if Tencent were to address the many problems that are currently in the game.
