A few weeks ago, Realme launched the successor of the Realme 2 smartphone in India — Realme 3. The company priced the smartphone very aggressively considering the competition in the form of Redmi Note 7.

What is the price and features of Realme 3?

Why Realme 3 smartphones feels cheap in hand when compared to the Redmi Note series?

Realme 3 doesn’t feel cheap in hand according to us. The back panel of Realme 3 is made of polycarbonate (which is plastic).

On the other hand, Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro comes with a glass back panel which certainly gives more premium feel and look.

What about Android 9.0 Pie Update?

Realme 3 comes with Android 9.0 pie out of the box. It uses the latest ColorOS 6.0 as skin.

In this price range, one should go for Realme 3 or Redmi Note 7?

Redmi Note 7 came out to be an overall better smartphone in our first impressions. However, Note 7 costs extra Rs. 1,000 over Realme 3.

According to us, Redmi Note 7 is our first recommendation in this price range.

Realme 3 vs Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2?

Specifications like Full-HD+ display, 5000 mAh battery, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, 13MP+5MP dual rear camera make Zenfone Max Pro M2 a better smartphone compared to Realme 3. However, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 costs extra Rs. 1000 over Realme 3.

Realme 3 vs Realme 2?

Realme 2 was launched last year in September. Realme 3 is definitely an upgrade over Realme 2. The major differences are design, processor and both cameras.

Realme 2 comes with Snapdragon 450 SoC whereas Realme 3 comes with MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. The former includes 13MP+2MP with f/2.2 aperture where the latter includes 13MP+2MP with f/1.8 aperture.

Also, Realme 2 has regular notch style where Realme 3 follows the latest waterdrop style notch.

How is the PUBG performance on Realme 3?

We played one of the most popular game, PUBG Mobile on Realme 3. PUBG ran smoothly at medium graphics. We noticed there were some lags and frame drops at High graphics. We played the game for about one hour and the device handled the game smoothly at medium graphics. In about one hour of gameplay, the battery only drained 25% which is great.

Snapdragon 660 or MediaTek Helio P70?

Both processors can be said as equally good. There is no major difference in real life. In benchmarks, Helio P70 score better score than Snapdragon 660. Helio P70 is more efficient than Snapdragon 660 as the former processor is based on the 12nm process whereas the latter processor is based on the 14nm process.

Both are similar in CPU performance but there is a difference in GPU performance as Helio P70 uses Mali G72 GPU whereas Snapdragon 660 uses Adreno 512. Adreno GPUs are better in GPU performance.

To make it simple, in layman terms, there are no major differences but in gaming Snapdragon 660 can perform a little bit better.

Benchmarks scores of Realme 3?

Many users asked benchmarks score of MediaTek Helio P70 chipset which is present on Realme 3.

In AnTuTu benchmark test it scored 135,109. In Geekbench, it scored 1398 in single core and scored 5117 in multi-core.

Where it is available?

The smartphone is exclusively available only on Flipkart.

Is Camera2 API supported in Realme 3?

Yes, Camera2 API is supported out of the box and you can install Google camera on this smartphone.

Is there Widevine L1 support on the Realme 3?

No, Realme 3 doesn’t support Widevine L1. It has a 720p+ display so the lack of Widevine L1 support is not a big deal as well.

Is there any fast charging in Realme 3?

The smartphone doesn’t support any type of fast charging. It also comes with micro-USB port and a 10W regular charger.

Dedicated SIM Slot or not?

The smartphone comes with a dedicated sim slot i.e. it supports two SIM cards and one microSD card simultaneously.

Wait for Realme 3 Pro or buy Realme 3?

Realme 3 Pro will launch in April and it will be priced around 13k-15k. So there is a major price difference between these two smartphones. If your budget is around 13k-15k you should consider buying Redmi Note 7 Pro. Also, if you have time to wait till April then you should wait for realme 3 pro and then compare Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro which will give you a better idea about both smartphones.

Any updates about Realme 3 Pro?

There is no information from the company regarding the specifications of Realme 3 Pro. It will launch in April and will directly compete against Redmi Note 7 Pro, according to the company.
