Huawei’ sub-brand Honor launched Honor Magic 2 last year in October. The main highlight of the smartphone was the sliding mechanism. There are very limited smartphones in the market currently with a sliding mechanism. With the help of the sliding mechanism, the company was able to integrate triple front camera without any notch or bezels.
Honor Magic 2 comes with flagship level specifications like Kirin 980 SoC, Up To 8GB RAM and much more.
According to a post on Weibo, the company is all set to launch an Honor Magic 2 “3D” varaint which was also teased during the launch event of regular Magic 2.
The new upcoming smartphone is likely to retain triple rear camera setup which will include a 12MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a “structured light” 3D scanner sensor. The 3D scanner will be able to scan as many as 10,000 facial points. It will also work in the dark which will help in the facial recognition feature.
Apart from the facial recognition feature, the 3D scanner can be used for payments in payments app like Alipay.
The smartphone will come with graphene cooling pad which will be available on top variant only. The top variant is likely to sport 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is expected to be priced at CNY 5,799 (roughly Rs. 61,400).
