On Wednesday, LG V40 ThinQ is now officially launched at an event held in New York. The smartphone is successor of last year’s LG V30. Also, this is the first smartphone from the company with five cameras — three cameras on the back and two cameras on the front.
The highlights of the smartphone are IP68 water and dust resistance, Military-grade build (MIL-STD-810 certification), Boombox speaker. The company is focused on audio technology with improved 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad-DAC audio and DTS:X 3D surround sound.

- LG V40 ThinQ price in the US starts at $899.99 (roughly Rs. 66,325) and will vary depending on mobile carrier.
- The smartphone will be available for purchase starting October 18. The smartphone will come in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, Platinum Gray, and Carmine Red colours.
LG V40 ThinQ Specifications and Features
Now coming to the specifications, LG V40 ThinQ sports a 6.4-inch OLED FullVision Display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1440×3120 pixels) resolution. The smartphone also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Based on stock Android 8.1 Oreo, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes with only in 6GB LPDDR4X RAM option.
In optics, there is a triple rear camera setup. The first camera includes 12MP sensor with f/1.5 aperture,1.4-micron pixel size and 78-degree viewing angle, the second camera includes 16MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/1.9 aperture, 1-micron pixel size, and 107-degree viewing angle and the third camera includes 12MP telephoto lens sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 1-micron pixel size, and 45-degree viewing angle.
On the front, it comes with a dual camera setup with 8MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 5MP wide-angle secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture.
The rear cameras come with triple preview feature that takes three simultaneous shots from the three different rear cameras. The rear cameras also come with third-gen AI Camera Mode which recognizes up to 19 subjects and recommends 4 optimised filter options.
When it comes to storage, the smartphone comes with 128GB of USP 2.1 internal storage and microSD support up to 2TB. Connectivity suite of the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and more. The sensors on board the handset are accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The LG V40 ThinQ battery capacity is 3,300mAh with the support of Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and fast wireless charging. The handset is listed in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, Platinum Gray, and Carmine Red colours measures 158.7×75.8×7.79mm and weighs 169 grams.
