Moto Z Play – Quick Review

Lenovo India on October 4th, 2016 launched the Moto Z and Moto Z Play modular smartphones in India, along with the Moto Mods. The Moto Z has been priced at Rs. 39,999, while the Moto Z Play has been priced at Rs. 24,999. Both smartphones are available via both Amazon India and Flipkart. We will be quickly reviewing the Moto Z Play.

Design and Display

The Moto Z Play flaunts a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display of full HD resolution having pixel density 401 ppi. It is guarded against cracks and scratches by layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone weighs 165 grams and has bodily dimensions of 156.4 (H) x 76.4 (W) x 6.9 (T) mm.

OS and Configuration

The device runs on Android v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone looks well equipped to handle all sort of heavy usage from extreme multitasking to heavy gaming.

Camera and Storage

For photography, there is a 16MP rear shooter present on the back that has an aperture of f/2.0 and is backed by features like dual-colour LED flash, laser as well as phase detection autofocus. It is accompanied by a 5MP snapper on the front that is also equipped with an LED flash. On the storage front, there is a 32GB of storage space present inside along with memory card slot that can support microSD card of up to 2TB.

Connectivity and Battery

With regards to connectivity, options available in this device are 4G (also supports VoLTE), dual band Wi-Fi, hotspot tethering, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS, NFC and USB Type C. As far as sensors are concerned, this device is stacked with all sensors expected in a smartphone which are light, accelerometer, proximity, compass, gyroscope and a fingerprint sensor located on the front. The smartphone is powered 3,510mAh li-polymer battery, that has recharge time of just around 109 minutes using the turbocharger included in the package.

The Moto Z Play is a powerful smartphone with premium features. The device boast of many high end specs like powerful configurations, great built and design, fast charging, impressive cameras and many more. These make the new device in Moto Z series a great option to purchase.
