Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 Launched in India at Rs. 9,999

Today (September 21, 2016), Xiaomi Launched Mi Air Purifier 2 in India successor of Mi Air Purifier. The price of Mi Air Purifier 2 is Rs. 9,999. Mi Air Purifier 2 si the first home appliance product in India by the Chinese company, Xiaomi. The company is well-known for its budget smartphones in India like Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3, etc.

The Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with a filter & it should be changed within six months and will cost Rs 2,499. The Filter will be available on Mi.com.

Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 will go on sale on September 26, at 12 pm on Mi.com only. After this the sale will also happen on Mi.com and Flipkart.com on October 2 at 12 am.

As of now, Xiaomi has only one home product in India which is launched today while in China, a broader range of home products  by Xiaomi is available which includes air purifiers, water purifiers, cycles, laptops, etc. Also no news about Mi TV yet.

There is one and clear reason for Xiaomi to bring Mi Air Purifier 2 in India is the high amount of Air Pollution in India. For example, in Winter season Delhi turns into smog city. While Xiaomi were out of this, few companies have launched their Air purifiers in India, but almost all of them are quite expensive and will cost more than Rs. 10,000.

If we compare Mi Air Purifier 2 with its earlier version, it has a more compact design. According to the company, the Mi Air Purifier 2 has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) performance of 330 m3 per hour, which is higher than that of rivals in the market.

Xiaomi claims the Mi Air Purifier 2 can remove 99.7 per cent of small particles PM 2.5 (per hour). PM 2.5 are the most dangerous air pollutants linked to various breathing related ailments, including lung cancer and are much smaller than human hair.

The Mi Air Purifier 2 has a HEPA filter, activated carbon filter as well. The device has a Wi-Fi module 802.11b/g/n (2.4Ghz band), and can be synced with your device. With the help Mi Home app, users can monitor the data from the Mi Air Purifier 2. Dimensions for the device are 240 x 240 x 520 mm and it has a noise level of 30dB.

Xiaomi also launched Mi Band 2 in India successor of Mi Band. The price of Mi Band 2 is Rs 1,999. The Mi Band 2 will go on sale on September 27 at 12 pm on Mi.com. This sale will be followed by the next sale & will be on September 30 on Amazon.in and Mi.com at 12 am.

The company has also updated the MIUI 8 Weather app – it is currently available in beta, but will be rolling out in a few weeks to MIUI 8 users. The Weather app now includes real-time air quality index (AQI) data for India.
