Alphabet Inc.’s Sidewalks Labs is proposing to acquire bids from counties and states to test their “digital district.” Yes, that’s right, as crazy as it sounds, they’re wanting to create their very own digital city. Essentially they want to create an area in the USA where they can test new technologies like super fast Internet & autonomous cars. It’s reported that there are 100 city planning experts, researchers, and technologists in the project. These include Stuart Miller, the CEO of home builder Lennar, Anthony Townsend, research director of Institute of the Future✨, Stanford professor Balaji Prabhakar, and Harvard economist Ed Glaeser. So far Sidewalk Labs and Alphabet Inc. have refused to comment on the project.
