Chatbots have become all the talk recently when Facebook introduced them this week promising users a novel way to interact with the Messenger platform. However, chatbots may be hyped up a little, more than FB and other companies care to admit. Using them for simple tasks like figuring out the weather or buying a black shirt can be frustrating and less efficient than regular online shopping.
Meaning that there’s a LOT of room for improvement in bots. We’re not saying that they’re not useful and don’t have a hold in the future; it’s just that there’s much more to do with streamlining communication with chatbots. For one thing, not all bots operate the same way. Some require a trigger phrase, some only respond to particular commands correctly others take the initiative by making you click on various options. So it’s quite a long route to understanding each other, both for the bots as well as humans?.
