These game titles will incorporate Sony characters and intellectual property (IP).
Nintendo has been following the same path and is in the process of releasing more of their IPs on mobile devices. Their recent entrant, Miitomo has received mostly positive reviews so far. Both Sony and Nintendo are very protective of their IPs, understandable considering that they’re both in the gaming hardware business and that hardware is dependent on game sales and exclusive titles.
We’re sure that there aren’t too many of you who will remember the original God of War game on Java phones (Symbian 40), but we have fond memories of it being among the best side-scrolling action games of the time. If games of that calibre are to be expected, we couldn’t be more excited.
Hopefully, ForwardWorks and Sony will be able to bring their game-making prowess to the mobile space. We’re definitely looking forward to some incredible games from the studio.
