The dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Though Snapdeal has accidentally referred the device as single-SIM smartphone at some places. It sports a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera which comes with EIS (electronic image stabilisation), autofocus, and LED flash. The smartphone also has a 8-megapixel fixed-focus front camera.
Apart from all these features, The iris (retina) scanner is the highlight of the smartphone which allows TCL Pride T500L users to unlock the device after the front camera scans their retina. The company touts that the Pride T500L is the first smartphone launched in India to pack the Iris scanner. To recall, ViewSonic, a company largely associated with displays, revealed its V55 smartphone including iris scanner feature back in 2014.
The smartphone has internal storage of 16GB which is expandable via a microSD card. On the connectivity front, it has 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. The TCL Pride T500L smartphone supports 4G LTE on both the SIMs and it will be available in White colour.
