The new Gionee smartphone, Gionee Marathon M5 will be launched in India on November 24. The smartphone may come with a price tag of Rs 20,000. It was launched in June in China.

The Marathon M5 features a 5.5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The device is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clubbed with 2GB RAM. It has internal storage of 16GB that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. On the connectivity front, it has Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, A–GPS. The smartphone will be available in Grey, White and Gold color variants.

The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 UI on top and sports a 13MP main camera. It also has a 5MP front-facing camera. Though the main USP of the smartphone is its battery life. The Marathon M5 is backed by two 3010mAh batteries which brings the total up to 6020mAh. The company claims that the battery will last up to 4 days. Gionee says that the battery can last up to 62 hours with just 5 percent battery.
