Huawei P9 Launches in India with Dual Camera and 3GB RAM

On Wednesday (August 17, 2016), Huawei launches its flagship smartphone in India, dubbed as Huawei P9. No larger variant (P9 Plus) was seen today at the launch event held at Delhi, India. Huawei P9 has been priced at Rs. 39,999 and is available exclusively via Flipkart.

Earlier this year in April, Huawei P9 had been unveiled alongside the Huawei P9 Plus, and both smartphones feature a dual rear camera setup that was ‘co-engineered with Leica’. The smartphones sport two 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 apertures – one camera captures colour images, while the other captures monochrome images. The smartphones come with 8-megapixel front-facing cameras.

On the other hand, Huawei P9 features the company’s EMUI 4.1 skin based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display. It is powered by a Hi-Silicon Kirin 955 octa-core processor (2.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A72 + 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 cores) that’s coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The Huawei P9 Indian variant launched bears 32GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

Earlier this year in April, also a 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage variant was also unveiled at the global launch, but unfortunately they did not launched in India.

The Huawei P9 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1, Infrared, and USB Type-C. P9 is available in Ceramic White, Prestige Gold, and Titanium Grey colour variants in India. The smartphone features a 3000mAh battery. The company is also promoting a VIP service with 2-year warranty, 3-month screen replacement warranty, and a pickup and drop service.

At last in the event, Huawei also announced the Stainless Steel edition of the Huawei Watch. Watch is also available via Flipkart for Rs. 22,999.
