First Look: Freedom 251, 5000 units ready to ship

The Freedom 251 will cost you Rs. 251, plus Rs. 40 for delivery. So, this is what you get for Rs. 291. Ringing Bells confirmed that it’ll start delivering 5000 units of the device, and has ordered a total of 2 lakh units. The company is doing an internal lucky draw, which will be used to determine who gets the device first. Ringing Bells is currently delivering it to people who registered earlier.

The Freedom 251 has a 4-inch qHD display, 1GB of RAM, a quad core processor, and a 1450 mAh battery. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

While the company’s spec sheet says the Freedom 251 has a 3.2MP camera, the camera settings show a maximum 2MP resolution. We’re yet to confirm whether this is a mistake or whether there’s more to it.

The display on the Freedom 251 is dim and reflective, and the touch performance, of the display and the capacitive buttons, aren’t good. It is to be expected of a device this cheap, though.
