Facebook Mentions App Launched For Android

The Facebook Mentions app, which was launched for iOS users back in 2014, has finally made it to Android. The app lets public figures with verified profiles broadcast live videos, interact with followers, track trending stories, and more. The app also lets public figures post public updates without spamming their friends and family members. They can also post Twitter or Instagram updates from within the app as well.

The Facebook Mentions app is now available to download from Google Play. It weighs 87MB and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and later OS verisons.

You can also check out what people are saying about you and other topics you follow. In addition, you can also see what topics are currently trending on Facebook.

The new Mentions app will also let you too choose the audience you want to share your text, links, photos or anything else. For example, Facebook states that you can share a post so only your followers see it in News Feed.

In Sept. last year, Facebook updated its Mentions app, making it available for all public figures with verified profiles. The app was previously limited to select influencers only. In August, the app got the ability to broadcast live stream videos to allow actors, musicians, and other celebrities a new way to connect with their fans.
